Will I receive a tax receipt for the full amount of my donation?
Yes... But you must register your payment card! Right after your first ‘tiptap' gift, scan the parish QR code and register your payment card. After registering your card, all of your 'tiptap' gifts that you make will be part of your end- of-year tax receipt. Your tax receipt will be for the full amount of all of your 'tiptap' gifts that have been made after registering your payment card. The parish will be responsible for the payment of any fees associated with using the devices. A tax receipt can only be issued if you tap and register with a credit/debit card. You will not be issued a tax receipt if you tap with a mobile/wearable device or an unregistered payment card. This donation will be recorded as an anonymous donation. If you do not wish to receive a tax receipt for your contribution, you can simply tap the device with your contactless method of payment. The contribution will be recorded as an anonymous donation with the parish.
What if I have more than one credit card?
You will need to register each card if you wish to receive a tax receipt at the end of the year.
Can I use my debit card on the Tip Tap devices?
Yes. Both debit and credit cards that have the ability to make contactless payments can be used on the 'tiptap' devices.
How do I donate different amounts?
You can only donate the amount that is labelled on the 'tiptap' device. However, you can tap the ‘tiptap' device multiple times to donate more. For example, you can tap a $50-device 2 times to make a $100 gift to Holy Spirit.
I made a mistake when registering my card. Who do I need to contact?

Is my data stored in the device?
No. The device does not store any information. It also cannot be hacked as any tampering triggers a signal that shuts down the device.
Are there any fees for tapping?
The parish is charged 1.9% for each credit card transaction. The parish is charged 11¢ per
debit card transaction.
If my payment card has changed, how do I update my information?
Please contact the parish office immediately to have your payment card updated. You will not receive a tax receipt with your new payment card until your new card has been registered with the parish.
If I tap the device, how will I know that my contribution has been accepted?
On your bank statement, the transaction will display Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Can I use my phone to use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or my mobile/wearable device to make a gift?
Yes. Contactless payments, including contactless credit and debit cards, as well as Google Pay, Apple Pay, and payment-enabled mobile/wearable devices use the same NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. You cannot receive a tax receipt when using these forms of donating. Only registered payment cards will be eligible for a tax receipt.
